Mrs. Woods received her B.S. (Biology) from Oakwood College in 2002, her J.D. from Harvard University in 2005, and her M.P.H from Johns Hopkins in 2007. She is a member of the Illinois and California bars and the American Bar Association. She is also a registered patent attorney and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Mrs. Woods joined the Office of General Counsel in October 2015 as an Associate General Counsel where her focus is on the areas of trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property issues. Before joining the Office of General Counsel, Mrs. Woods worked in Washington D.C. at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of General Counsel where her focus was legal issues concerning health operations and health administration. Previously, she worked in Los Angeles, California at a law firm specializing in health care law, and in Birmingham, Alabama where she clerked for the Honorable U.W. Clemon in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
